A native Utahn, born on a dairy farm in Cache County and a resident of Emery and Carbon Counties since 1972, Representative Christine Watkins is a conservative with a strong moral compass. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that future generations can enjoy access to the mountains, deserts, lakes, and natural wonders of Castle Country. Watkins has a proven track record of leadership and legislative common sense. Strengthening and defending rural Utah is one of the main reasons she decided to return to the legislature.  She has a passion for Utah’s rural communities and will continue to advocate for the freedoms they enjoy.

 

Christine earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Utah State University and a Master of Educational Administration from the University of Utah. As an educator, she has taught traditional elementary school for eleven years and special education for nine years and was the Elementary Principal at the Pinnacle Canyon Charter School in Price, Utah.  She also served a term on the College of Eastern Utah’s Board of Directors.

 

Watkins was the Executive Director for the Southeastern UniServ for eight years and UniServ Director for the Bonneville UniServ in Orem, Utah.  She is married to John Watkins and has five children and 10 grandchildren. As an active member in her community, Christine has served as on the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce and has held many leadership positions in her church.
